Le budget de la défense n'a fait que fondre depuis la Fin de la Guerre froide. Aujourd'hui, l'armée a besoin de retrouver de nombreuses capacités, et de montrer à nos voisins européens que nous assumons notre propre sécurité. Avec 0.8% de son PIB dédié à cette question, la Suisse figure en queue de tête des nations européenne dans le domaine de la défense.
