Es besteht ein Zusammenhang zwischen übermässigem Zuckerkonsum und zahlreichen Krankheiten wie Herz-Kreislauf-Erkrankungen, Krebs und Depressionen. Deshalb ist es sinnvoll, den Zuckerkonsum zu senken, auch mit Regulatorien. Es braucht eine grundsätzliche Anpassung der AHV-Renten. Nur so kann der Auftrag der Bundesverfassung für eine angemessene Existenzsicherung im Alter für alle umgesetzt werden. Ein wichtiger Schritt in diese Richtung ist die Volksinitiative für die Einführung einer 13. AHV-Rente.
