Ein Ziel einer Demokratie sollte es sein, dass möglichst breite Teile der Gesellschaft mitbestimmen können. In Österreich hat sich das Wahlalter 16 auf Bundesebene seit der Änderung im Jahr 2007 bewährt. Auch der Kanton Glarus sowie u.a. einige deutsche Bundesländer und Malta haben das Wahlalter 16 bereits eingeführt. Folgen wir diesen Beispielen, beteiligen sich vor allem die Jugendlichen, die dazu bereit sind. Zudem trägt eine frühe Teilhabe dazu bei, dass Wählen zur Gewohnheit wird.

Als Land, das von der Ausbeutung der Ressourcen des globalen Südens profitiert hat, haben wir eine eine grosse Verantwortung in der Entwicklungszusammenarbeit. Noch wichtiger ist aber, dass aktuellen Menschenrechtsverletzungen und Umweltzerstörungen durch Schweizer Grosskonzerne gestoppt werden.
Comment
Von einer allgemeinen Erhöhung des Rentenalters wären nur die Unter- und Mittelschicht betroffen, da Besserverdienende deutlich flexibler in ihrem Renteneintritt sind. Da die Lebenserwartung der Schweizer Unterschicht 3-6 Jahre unter dem Durchschnitt liegt, müssten also vor allem diejenigen länger arbeiten, die ohnehin weniger von ihrer Pensionierung haben. Zudem führt eine Anhebung des Rentenalters zu mehr über 50-Jährigen Arbeitslosen.
